Eagle-eyed rail enthusiasts may have spotted Mechan's lifting jacks playing a fantastic supporting role in BBC2 series Great British Railway Journeys last week.

As part of his journey from Winchester to the Isle of Wight, presenter, Michael Portillo, took a fascinating tour of Eastleigh Railway Works, which has been manufacturing, refurbishing and servicing rail cars and locomotives since the 19th century and boasts an historic mix of old and new equipment.
