Bogie Storage

Mechan produces a vast range of equipment for stacking, lifting and storing bogies, wheelsets, engines, traction motors and ancillary equipment.

Bogie stands are supported on the wheel treads to protect the flanges and paint work on the bogie frame.

Low level stands allow bogies to be stacked for storage purposes. They can be free standing or bolted down.

High level stands usually support the bogie wheels at a height of around 1,000mm to give a comfortable working position. They can be bolted to a concrete floor or supplied with castors for mobility.

One-piece bogie stacking frames are fitted with self-locating plates for safe storage of complete bogies. Each is fitted with lifting eyes suitable only for raising the frame.

Wheelset lifting beams locate to the inside of the wheel rim and can be attached to both cranes and forklift trucks.
