Mechan Lifts Profile In Europe With Return To Trako

September 25, 2013

Rail depot equipment specialist, Mechan, will be flying the flag for Sheffield’s manufacturing industry at one of Europe’s most prestigious transport industry exhibitions.

Mechan is heading to Poland for TRAKO 2013 as part of a group of companies from the Midlands region representing Britain’s contribution to the rail sector.

The four day trade fair, held at the Exhibition Centre Gdasnk, starts on September 24 and attracts major Polish transport companies and public sector organisations. Mechan will be showcasing its wide range of depot maintenance products in the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) British Pavilion, which can be found in hall A, stand 38.

Sales engineer, Lee Pitts, will be representing Mechan at TRAKO 2013. He said: “This is an excellent opportunity to improve our profile in Central and Eastern Europe and we look forward to returning to TRAKO as part of the UKTI delegation. Investment in the region’s rail infrastructure and rolling stock is increasing, following the launch of schemes such as the Estonia to Poland Baltica Project and we welcome the opportunity to make new contacts in the area.”

Mechan’s visit to TRAKO follows hot on the heels of its most recent order from the region. The firm has been commissioned to supply 30 railcar lifting jacks to the PKP depot in Warsaw, which are due to be delivered in September.

TRAKO is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will run from September 24-27. The bi-annual rail exhibition is organised in partnership with Polish State Railways and promotes the development of international trade between members of the European Union.
