Established Sheffield manufacturer, Mechan, is marking its 40th anniversary year by adding the Investors in People (IiP) accreditation to its growing list of credentials.
The leading manufacturer of rail depot maintenance and lifting products has achieved the IiP award in recognition of the quality of its staff and services.
An independent assessor measured Mechan’s performance against the IiP framework by carrying out interviews with a number of staff. Areas that needed improvement to meet the standards were identified and then reassessed, to enable Mechan to strengthen its internal procedures and improve its business performance.
Richard Carr, Mechan’s managing director, said: “IiP is a world-renowned benchmark against which a company’s services can be measured. We are extremely pleased to be awarded the accreditation, particularly in our anniversary year, as we believe it will reassure both new and existing customers and suppliers that they are dealing with an organisation that performs at the highest level.”
Mechan has also passed the ISO 9001:2008 qualification this year, the latest version of the international standards, developed and published by the International Organisation for Standardisation. Mechan is internationally renowned for the production of lifting and handling equipment used specifically in rail depots and workshops, as well as high integrity cranes for use in hazardous environments.
