When it is not necessary to detach a complete bogie, our rail removal systems are a cost-effective way to exchange wheelsets and undercar modules without lifting or splitting the train.
Sitting in a shallow pit underneath the track, our self-contained rail removal systems comprise two lengths of rail, braced by rigid fabricated beams, which are latched onto supporting columns at each end. They transfer the rail vehicle’s weight whilst a rail mounted table is positioned in the pit and used to remove the rails and modules.
The scissor lift table travels in a perpendicular direction to the rail track and is traversed under the vehicle by remote control to facilitate the exchange.
When the rail removal equipment is not in use, it is latched into place, allowing other depot traffic to pass freely, and ensuring the entire road is available for general maintenance activities. The controls and removable rails can also be fully interlocked with your depot protection and OHE isolation systems, offering a safe and secure environment for workshop personnel at all times.
