VIP Visitor

It was an honour to meet the secretary of state for rail at this year’s InnoTrans last week.

Paul Maynard stopped at our stand on a tour of the UK Pavilion for a chat with chief executive, Richard Carr.

As the MP for Blackpool, Mr Maynard is familiar with Mechan’s work, having seen first-hand the turntable we produced for the town’s tram depot. He was very interested to learn about our recent design innovations and how our products are playing a vital role in key rail infrastructure projects, such as the Intercity Express Programme and Crossrail.

We were really pleased that a VIP visitor to InnoTrans should show such enthusiasm for our work – he topped off a fantastically busy week for us at the world famous trade fair.
